New Westminster, BC – The City of New Westminster will host its annual open house on Saturday, May 24th from 1:00pm to 3:30pm at City Hall, 511 Royal Avenue, New Westminster.

The City’s open house is a great family event. It follows the conclusion of the Hyack International Parade which begins at 11:00am and travels from Eighth Avenue along Sixth Street to Queens Avenue, then travels behind City Hall to Queens Park. Everyone is invited to come for an afternoon of fun for the whole family. There will be interesting displays, opportunities to have photos taken in the Mayor’s chair, big city service vehicles to explore, entertainment by Parks and Recreation and free refreshments.

2008 City Hall Open House activities will conclude with a bang with the firing of the anvil salute by the Ancient and Honourable Hyack Anvil Battery in front of City Hall at 3:00pm and the annual Hyack Rose planting.
