The next time you see a movie, a portion of it may have been filmed in New Westminster! Scenes for eight feature films, and one movie of the week, were filmed in New Westminster in 2008 and included celebrities such as Dwayne Johnson, Jennifer Aniston and Halley Berry.

Keep a watch on the upcoming movie listings for the following feature films partly filmed in New Westminster: Travelling, I Love You Beth Cooper, Frankie & Alice, Tooth Fairy, Jennifer’s Body, Cats and Dogs 2, Damage, and a DVD feature, Ruslan.

In addition to movies, there were five TV commercials, and three public service announcements, one of them for Teen Eating Disorders and another for Youth Against Gang Violence, filmed in New Westminster.

The hit series Supernatural also filmed scenes for seven episodes in New Westminster in 2008. Two other locally filmed series, Reaper and Psych also filmed in the city.

The film and television industry contributes about $1 billion annually to BC’s economy and provides about 20,000 direct and 15,000 indirect jobs. By hosting filming, New Westminster merchants and residents benefit from the significant economic stimulation provided by filming.
