New Westminster – The Royal City will host CTV’s Tamara’s Super Block Party in Queen’s Park on July 15th. CTV camera crews and sports personality Perry Solkowski will join Tamara Taggart as the CTV British Columbia five and six-o-clock newscasts cut away to feature all of the block party action.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase New Westminster and the people who make our city such a great place to live,” said Mayor Wayne Wright. “It is especially fitting that Tamara’s Super Block Party is coming to Queen’s Park during our city’s 150th anniversary celebrations.”

Tamara’s Super Block Party will take place near the picnic shelter and bandshell in Queen’s Park on Wednesday, July 15th from 4pm to 7pm. Tamara Taggart will mingle with the crowd and will “cut-in” to evening news broadcasts with block party updates. Sports personality Perry Solkowski will broadcast his live sports report from the Queen’s Park bandshell.

Mr. Mikes will provide the food for the event, with the first 1500 guests receiving a Mr. Mikes burger and drink.

“Tamara’s Super Block Party is sure to be fun for everyone,” said Mayor Wright. “Let your friends and neighbours know and bring the kids down to Queen’s Park on July 15th as we show British Columbia what a fantastic community we have right here in New Westminster.”
