Centre Block Tower - Land Use Study

Centre Block Tower - Land Use Study
February 5, 2010 10:44 am

On September 14, 2009, Council directed staff to carry out further consultation with established stakeholders; to include direct consultation with former Woodlands residents and their families; and to provide Council with a land use, structural and financial analyses of options 2 and 3 from the September 14, 2009 Tower Report.

The Land Use Study completed by Urban Forum Associates, forms one of the three consultant studies and provides a greater understanding of how the scenarios proposed for the tower would look and operate on the site. For the Council in Committee of the Whole Report, “Centre Block Tower – Update on Professional Analyses,’ which contains background and contextual information, as well as the other two consultant studies, please see the February 8, 2010 Committee of the Whole report.

The three scenarios in the land use study only show the Tower and a fifty foot perimeter.  They do not show existing or proposed buildings that form part of the larger Woodlands development site.  The current proposal for adjacent buildings to the Tower includes four to five storey strata residences.
