Own a Piece of Olympic History

Own a Piece of Olympic History
April 9, 2010

New West residents have an opportunity to own a piece of Olympic history with the launch of the Youth Centre @ Moody Park’s Olympic street banner fundraising initiative. The banners, which flew throughout the city to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic torch, are now available in exchange for a donation to the Youth Centre @ Moody Park campaign to raise $200,000 to furnish and equip the new centre when construction is completed this spring.

Olympic street banners are available in sets of two, with each banner in the set featuring a unique design. For $100, donors will receive a set of Olympic banners as well as a set of two City of New Westminster 150th banners that flew throughout the city in celebration of our sesquicentennial in 2009. Additional sets of 150th street banners will be packaged with 150th souvenir items and made available for a donation of $30.

Banner packages are available now and may be purchased at Century House, 620 Eighth Street. For more information, please call 604-519-1066.
