Filtration work at Moody Park Outdoor Pool resolves water clarity issue

New Westminster, BC – The installation of an additional filter and switch from a solid puck chlorination system to a liquid one has resolved water clarity issues at Moody Park Outdoor Pool. While water clarity at the outdoor facility was likely not perceptible to pool users, it did pose an issue for life guarding safety standards and required pool closure for one hour each day to enable the filtration system to catch-up.

“I am pleased we’ve been able to develop a solution to the filtration issues at Moody Park Outdoor Pool and that this facility is now open for continuous operating hours,” said Dean Gibson, Director of Parks, Culture and Recreation. “I’d like to recognize the efforts of Canada Games Pool management and maintenance staff who have worked diligently over the past several months to resolve this issue and ensure we provide the level of service the community expects and deserves at Moody Park Outdoor Pool.”

The Moody Park Outdoor Pool was opened in 2009 and remains a popular destination for New Westminster residents and visitors during the summer months. Pool operating hours are 1:15pm to 8:00pm, weather dependant. Call Canada Games Pool at 604-526-4281 for daily opening information.
