Hyack Festival

The renowned Hyack Festival each spring is one of New Westminster’s best-loved traditions. In partnership with local community organizations, the Hyack Festival Association showcases dozens of events including entertainment, fireworks, sporting events and the signature Hyack parade.

May Day

New Westminster’s historic May Day Celebration began in 1870 and is now one of the longest running celebrations of its kind in the Commonwealth. Experience this unique event as hundreds of elementary school children gather at Queen’s Park Stadium to perform traditional Maypole dances and witness the crowning of the May Queen.
