Official Community Plan (Bylaw No. 6476, 1998)

The City of New Westminster Official Community Plan (OCP) Bylaw No. 6476, 1998 was adopted by Council June 15, 1998. Subsequent amendments to the OCP Bylaw have been consolidated for convenience only. An OCP is a municipality’s statement of its long-term vision for the future. It describes the kind of community that the municipality wishes to evolve into. The OCP establishes a broad vision with supporting goals and objectives. Implementation occurs through actions by the City and many others, including bylaws, public programs, civic projects, private development, citizen actions, etc. This bylaw is not a legal document. Certified copies of the original bylaw may be obtained from the Legislative and Information Services Department.
