Information Technology Services
The Information Technology Services Department supports and guides the operations of the City of New Westminster through the strategic management of computer assets and ensuring proper functioning of the IT infrastructure, such as voice and data networks, mission critical systems and desktop computing devices. The department also provides IT advice, project management and GIS services to all departments in the organization.
 
The Information Technology Services department consists of the following entities:
  • Application Group – responsible for analyzing, implementing and maintaining all software applications to meet City business needs;
  • Corporate GIS Services – responsible for developing and maintaining all GIS data and mapping services for all departments;
  • Network Services – responsible for designing, installing and maintaining all LAN, WAN, VOIP and City servers.
  • Help Desk Services – responsible for providing first line technical support and ensuring quality customer care to users.
Together, the Information Technology Services function as a team and plays a key role in the effective guidance and advancement of technology solutions in better serving the community.
