Personal Preparedness

Personal Preparedness

Emergencies are unfortunate in nature and their outcomes can be lessened to some degree by careful planning ahead. The City of New Westminster Emergency Management Office strongly encourages everyone to have insurance for your business, residence and vehicles. We also recommend that you should ensure that your estate and finances be looked after should you be incapacitated or worse. You should store all important documents in a safe and secure location such as a safety deposit box OR fire-proof box. Documents for residences can be any or all of the following identified for safe keeping:

WILLS, INSURANCE PAPERS FOR HOUSE, VEHICLE, LIFE & BUSINESS, PASSPORTS, CITIZENSHIP, IMPORTANT PHONE NUMBERS AND BANK ACCOUNTS.
