The City of New Westminster will have the privilege and honour of hosting the Olympic Torch as it makes it way across Canada en route to Vancouver for the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
The 106-day Torch Relay will be the largest in Olympic history stretching over 45,000 kilometers through over 1000 communities.
On February 9, 2010, New Westminster will welcome the Flame as it makes its way throughout the City towards Queen’s Park for our Torch Relay community celebration. The event will include entertainment that celebrates the spirit of the Olympic Games and showcases our city’s rich heritage and unique identity to the world.
We invite everyone to join us along the route and at Queen's Park at 10:00am as we celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
