Notice to City’s Electric Utility Customers

City Council has adopted a new rate structure that reflects an across-the-board 2.8% rate increase, effective April 1, 2019.

Although both residential and commercial rates are being revised to reflect the same rate increase, the amount of any increase in monthly electricity bill will vary depending on the amount of energy used.  The electricity bill for a residential household using 1,000 kWh per month will increase by $3.30 to $121.17 per month.

Even with the new approved rates, the City of New Westminster utilities’ rates remain on average amongst the lowest in North America.
