February 24 -28 is Anti-Bullying Week in New Westminster
Members of the New Westminster Youth Advisory Committee supported by Youth Services and Parks and Recreation departments, presented their Anti-Bullying/Pink Shirt Day proclamation to City Council on Monday, February 24. Turn up the volume). Anti-bullying day provides an opportunity to celebrate kindness, togetherness and being inclusive by lifting each other up.
 
New Westminster Youth Services, Parks and Recreation, and the Youth Advisory Committee will be supporting the Anti-Bullying Pink Shirt Day campaign Wednesday, February 26, through activities within the New West Youth Centre, Neighbourhood programs, and City departments. About the Youth Advisory Committee
The role of the Youth Advisory Committee is to act as a resource to City Council on issues affecting youth in New Westminster and providing the youth viewpoint on issues such as community safety, health, recreation, employment and environment. The committee will take any action in accordance with Council’s request regarding youth in the community, encourage an understanding by youth of Municipal government and provide the opportunity for the community to become aware of the positive contributions made by our youth.
