In response to rising inflation costs, the Province of British Columbia has announced a one-time cost-of-living credit on hydro bills this fall. A hydro bill credit will be provided to all eligible residential and commercial electricity customers, including City of New Westminster Electric Utility customers.

Residential customers will receive a $100 credit, and commercial customers will receive a credit based on their prior year electricity consumption.

All New Westminster Electric Utility customers who were active on October 1, 2022, will have the credit automatically applied to their bill over the next three months. There is no need for customers to apply to receive the credit.
