What's New
Capacity Café

Wednesday, March 4, 5:30 – 7:30 pm
New Westminster YOUth Hub, 502 Columbia St.
Registration is required.

Capacity Café invites educators, youth service providers, community partners, and other adults who support young people to hear directly from youth about their lived experiences.

During this facilitated session, youth will share their perspectives while adults listen with curiosity and care. The conversation is thoughtfully structured to ensure it is respectful, trauma-informed, and safe for everyone involved.

Participants will gain:

  • Deeper insight into young people’s lived experiences
  • A clearer understanding of how services and systems are experienced by youth
  • Perspective to inform and strengthen their work

Food and refreshments will be provided.

Offered in partnership with Purpose Society and Public Safety Canada.

About the Initiative

Capacity Café is part of the City of New Westminster’s broader work to support youth safety, belonging, and resilience through the Building Safer Communities Fund (BSCF) Program.

Through funding from Public Safety Canada, the City is working with non-profit organizations, youth, and community partners to strengthen supports for young people aged 12 – 25. This work focuses on providing basic needs, education, and safe spaces of belonging, while helping prevent youth violence and gang involvement.

We recognize that youth voices are essential to this work. Capacity Café helps ensure their experiences inform the programs, services, and systems that support them.
