For the past 10 summers, Shadows & Dreams has been presenting free family friendly productions in Queen's Park. We are remounting our very first production, featuring some of our alumni from the show 10 years ago. And as an extra special part of our anniversary celebration, we have added Saturday evening performances so our audience can enjoy A Midsummer Night's Dream on a midsummer night.

With a Steampunk setting, chaos and hilarity ensue as a pair of star-crossed lovers, a spurned maiden, some fighting fairies and a band of amateur actors are caught up in the magic of a mischievous sprite. This production is graciously sponsored by New Westminster Parks and Recreation.

Hermia and Lysander run away to marry and are pursued by Demetrius (who loves Hermia) and Helena (who loves Demetrius). The lovers become entangled in a feud between the King and Queen of the Fairies turning their lives upside down. The enchanted forest is also host to a band of very amateur actors rehearsing a play starring a oddly transformed Bottom the weaver. When the bungling sprite Puck begins to meddle, all are tossed into a marvelous mix-up of mistaken identity, magical happenings and happy endings. Audiences have loved this romantic comedy for centuries! What better place to enjoy a Midsummer Dream than in our own enchanted forest, beautiful Queen's Park, New Westminster.

Performances are rain or shine – if there's an audience there's a show.
