Instructor: Caitlin Chaisson
Workshop: Figuratively Speaking Level 2 (19+ years) This is a continuation and development of the skills and ideas introduced in Life Drawing I and also uses life models. The focus is placed on the development of observational skills, drawing techniques and the use of a broader range of drawing media including watercolor and mixed media. You will develop technical abilities and explore creative responses to the materials and the human figure. There will also be critiques, discussions and short lectures that culminates in students creating their own experimental project.
About Caitlin Chaisson: Caitlin Chaisson is an artist and writer based in Vancouver, BC. Her work explores the social body, and the relationships that materialize out of that constantly shifting arena. She observes and reflects on these interdependencies through a slow and methodical practice of drawing. She received a BComm with a Minor in Art History from the University of British Columbia in 2010, and earned a Masters of Applied Arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2016. www.caitlinchaisson.com
