Painting for Parkinson's 2019
August 23, 2019
12:30 pm
3:30 pm
100 Braid Street Studios
A free community event fostering understanding, support and awareness for those living with Parkinson's. This event will bring those living with Parkinson's disease (PD) together with friends, family, neighbours and the community to share a fun, enriching and stimulating experience. Many physical and cognitive symptoms of PD can be addressed by engaging in a creative process such as painting - wellness through the arts! No painting experience necessary. Painters will feel proud to produce a work of art to bring home - this year a 12 x 12 canvas representation of Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis's "Birds" led by local artist Ceci Lam. This event is possible due to a New Westminster Neighbourhood Small Grant and Vancouver Foundation. Thank you to OPUS Art Supplies for donating the canvases and Tim Hortons at New West Station for suppling the light refreshments.
