Help us remove invasive blackberry and plant native species to improve biodiversity along the Fraser River shoreline near Port Royal on Saturday April 22 from 10 am to 1 pm.
Bring the whole family, get together a group, or challenge your friends.
Community members are asked to meet at the south end of Holly Avenue (south of Salter Street) in Queensborough. Please use green transit if possible (carpool, bus, bike, walk, etc.).
We ask participants to bring your own tools (e.g., spade shovels, clippers/loppers, gloves, etc.) if you have them. We will have some work gloves, rakes, clippers, and shovels.
Refreshments for volunteers will be provided.
This event is organized by the Queensborough Special Programs Committee (QSPC) with support from a City of New Westminster environmental grant. The Queensborough Special Programs Committee is a local group that offers opportunities for all people to give back to their community. We have monthly meetings, plan events and projects, and are a great group of volunteers. Fun family events we provide include the Queensborough Children Festival, Lighting the Fire Hall, and Summer Sounds. We’ll be bringing back the Family Christmas Dinner this year, a very popular event.
