As part of the WALK30 Challenge, Mayor Patrick Johnstone is hosting a weekly Walk with the Mayor. Join the Mayor to walk different neighbourhoods in New West and chat about the City, the weekly theme, and more. Walks times vary from 20 – 40min and will take place rain or shine! No registration is required, just show up at the starting point at the scheduled time.

 

Week 2: Community Connection

 

On April 10, meet at Sapperton Park at 8:30am. The walk will be a route along E. Columbia St through Sapperton to the new Metro Vancouver pump station and Sapperton Landing Park. The goal is to focus discussion on how walking is inherently the most social way to travel, as it helps foster a sense of community and connection between friends and neighbours.

 

The route is approximately 40 min and 2.5km with some grades.
