As part of the WALK30 Challenge, Mayor Patrick Johnstone is hosting a weekly Walk with the Mayor. Join the Mayor to walk different neighbourhoods in New West and chat about the City, the weekly theme, and more. Walks times vary from 20 – 40min and will take place rain or shine! No registration is required, just show up at the starting point at the appointed time.

 

WEEK 1: Mindful Steps

 

On April 3, meet at Port Royal Park at 3:30pm. The walking route will be along the Port Royal Riverfront Walk. The gentle walk along the riverfront, with its peaceful views, trees, and access to nature gives a chance to reflect on the mental health benefits of access to nature, even in a dense residential neighbourhood. 

 

The route is approximately 26mins and a 1.7km loop with some grades and a staircase.
