We welcome everyone to our next exhibition opening! Two award-winning artists from Peru and Spain will give Artist Talks in Anvil Theatre from 1-2pm.Doors to New Media Gallery open at 2pm.
PneumoMachinic Xoan X’il (Spain), Ali Miharbi (Turkey), Cristhian Avila Cipriani (Peru) Three artists explore how the breath can be interpreted through objects, through the body and through complex technologies. Works of art include 3-D printed voice-boxes on tripods that whisper the beginnings of human speech, small instrumental-constructions that mimic 18th century environmental changes in musical form, and 3D prints of ancient, pre-columbian wind instruments, played in the gallery with wind data coming directly from Peru. Come and enjoy this mesmerizing, sonic experience.
