  • Brink: Opening Reception

    February 24, 2017 7:30 - 10:00 pm New Media Gallery

New Media Gallery announces the opening reception of BRINK, a unique exhibition of international robotic, electronic and video art.  New Media Gallery has an international reputation and works with the most significant artists from leading galleries and collections worldwide. Featuring: Miguel Angel Rios (Argentina), David Bowen (USA), Nelmarie du Preez (South Africa), Stefan Tiefengraber (Austria), Jacob Tonski (USA). Reception from 7:30 - 10:00 pm, with an Artist Talk 7:00 - 7:30 pm.

The exhibition BRINK runs from February 25 - April 30 and brings together a group of electronic media and robotic sculptural works as well as multi-screen video installations that explore notions of democracy and balance while suggesting a fragile equilibrium. In the works we recognize tensions between freedom of choice and causality or cause & effect as a cyclical and continuous process. The exhibition looks at game-playing and a search for both internal and external control and balance, with a focus on power struggles and symbiotic relationships. The works expose various attractions, aggressions, collisions and possible destructions.
