Hume Park

Lower Hume (Google Map) welcomes visitors with open spaces, a grass field, play apparatus, a picnic shelter, native plantings, parking and access to the Brunette river and Brunette-Fraser trail. Upper Hume Park (Google Map) offers a beautiful setting that boasts an incredible range of amenities. Whether your need is a family picnic, a walk, playground, off-lease dog area, spray park, an outdoor pool, sports event, lacrosse box or an outing to exercise your children, you will find what you need at Hume Park.

Hume Spray Park

The Hume Spray Park has been upgraded with new water features and a new rubber surface made from BC recycled tires making the park safer and more enjoyable for children to play on.

This new attractive surface can withstand weather, is easy to maintain and provides traction for little feet scampering around the new water features.

Hume Park Outdoor Pool

The Hume Park Outdoor Pool is an oasis on a hot summer day. Children love splashing and playing while adults join in or relax on a chaise lounge. The pool is generally open, 1:15 - 8:00 pm, from the last weekend in June to Labour Day (fair weather days).

Sports field use requires a booking through the Parks and Recreation office.

Playgrounds

In 2012, the Hume Park Playground re-opened with the addition of a new large adventure play structure featuring multiple play stations that can accommodate up to 60 children between the ages of 5 – 12 years.

Tennis & PICKLEBALL

Hume Park offers two Tennis courts with overlapping lines for 8 Pickleball courts (Pickleball nets required for play).

Picnic Shelter

Lower Hume Park features:

•     12 picnic tables (2 wheelchair   accessible)
•     Water fountain
•     Washroom facility
•     Garbage receptacle
•     Power

The picnic shelter is also nestled between the Brunette-Fraser River Trail that offers access to a beautiful river, parkland and forest filled with trails.

Other picnic shelter amenities include access to upper Hume Park, the Hume Park Outdoor Pool, a baseball diamond, Off-Leash Dog Area, Playground, Spray Park and more.

Lacrosse

The Hume Park lacrosse box can be reserved by calling the Parks and Recreation Administration Office, 604.527.4567.

History

Hume Park, established in 1912, is 31.72 acres and has a rich history. In 2012, the Lower Hume Picnic Shelter and Upper Hume Playground were replaced.
