CONNAUGHT HEIGHTS PARK PLAYGROUND REDEVELOPMENT

The Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the opening of the refreshed Connaught Heights Playground!  City staff engaged the students from Connaught Heights Elementary School, the PAC, the Connaught Heights Residents Association, the Parks & Recreation Committee as well as the general public in the planning and design of the new playground. Based on what we heard at the public open houses and consultation events, a set of principles and the preferred design “Slide Tower in the Trees” was developed to meet the needs of the community.

The built playground intends to meet the design ideas generated throughout the consultation process, support a variety of ages and abilities and fit within the available budget and retain all mature existing trees.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the students, parents, teachers and the PAAC for their participation in the refresh of the playground. We are also interested to hear all feedback, as we are always looking to learn how we can  improve upon the city’s playgrounds in the future!
