Pending direction from Council, staff will continue to work with Metro Vancouver to determine the financial viability of both options for future redevelopment of the site. This study will involve engaging consultants to:
1) conduct follow-up consultation, possibly in the form of focus groups, with underrepresented groups, including youth, families with younger children and renters;
2) estimate site servicing costs; and
3) provide a development pro forma for both forms of development (Concept 1 and 2).
This information combined with the community input from Open House #1 will be used to prepare a preferred conceptual site plan(s) to be presented for feedback at Open House #2 in late fall/early winter 2018.
Staff will report back to Council in fall 2018, prior to Open House #2, on the results of the additional consultation, financial viability study and potential approaches to the development of the site.
