What’s Happening

The central lawn at Saint Mary’s Park is being upgraded from grass to artificial turf. Heavy use has worn down the grass and compacted the soil, making it difficult for grass to grow.

To keep this space green and usable for the community, artificial turf designed for playgrounds will be installed. This durable, all-weather surface is a more sustainable, long-term option than replanting grass. It will provide a resilient green space for informal activities all year.

Construction Schedule

Work is expected to begin Thursday, August 21, 2025, and finish by September 4, 2025. The area will be fenced off until the project is complete. Staff will work with the contractor to complete the installation as quickly as possible.
