Kelvin Heights Sewer Separation & Waterworks Program

This project will see the installation of new storm sewers which will divert approx. 30% of the catchment’s storm flows from the combined sewers.

The project will reduce the discharge of combined sewer overflows into the Fraser River by diverting significant amounts of storm water from combined sewers during rainfall events and providing improved storm water drainage that meets regional and federal requirements. 

The following streets will be impacted:

  • Tenth Street between Tenth Avenue and Fifth Avenue
  • Tenth Street between Tenth Avenue and Sixth Avenue
  • London Street between Eighth Street and Tenth Street
  • Dublin Street between Eighth Street and Tenth Street
  • Edinburgh Street between Eighth Street and Tenth Street
  • Eight Avenue between Eighth Street and Tenth Street
  • Kingston Street between Twelfth Street and Tenth Street
  • Kelvin Street between Twelfth Street and 1030 Kelvin Street
  • Sixth Avenue between Twelfth Street and Tenth Street
  • Howay Street between Fifth Avenue and Tenth Street

Work is currently taking place on Tenth Street  between Tenth Avenue and Fifth Avenue.

Hours of Work
Monday – Friday, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

Road Closures
Traffic will be maintained. Temporary road closures and traffic delays. Alternate access points will be provided and advance notice will be given. Increased truck traffic on nearby roads.

Impacts/Interruptions
Temporary property access restrictions, as well as parking will be impacted. Please obey “no parking” signs as they will be moved daily. Temporary sidewalk restrictions.
