Metro Vancouver Interceptor Project

The New Westminster Interceptor is a large pressurized sewer pipe that carries wastewater collected throughout the Metro Vancouver region to the Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant in the City of Delta. To ensure continued protection of public health and the environment, this aging pipe needs to be repaired.

Construction will take place along Columbia Street from Front Street to McBride Boulevard. Crews will begin construction for the most vulnerable section of pipe extending from Front Street to Blackwood Street.

Timeline: Mid-Summer 2021 to Spring 2023
