Partial Road Closures - Seventh Ave AND Fifth St

Please be advised of an upcoming City of New Westminster Electrical Duct Bank Installation along the 500 & 600 blocks of Seventh Avenue and the 700 block of Fifth Street.

The installation will commence on the east side of Sixth Street and progress eastward along Seventh Avenue.

Work Duration:
November 4th to December 6th

Work Hours:
Monday - Friday: 7:00am to 8:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am to 6:00pm

Traffic Impacts (all closures are not implemented at the same time):

• Seventh Ave will be closed between Sixth St and lane to east of Sixth St.
• Single lane alternating traffic will be implemented while work progresses through intersection at Sixth St and Seventh Ave. Work in intersection will be scheduled on Saturdays or between 9am to 3pm on weekdays to minimize impacts
• Seventh Ave will be closed between Sixth St and Fifth St.
• Single lane alternating traffic will be implemented while work progresses through intersection at Fifth St and Seventh Ave
• Single lane alternating traffic will be implemented while work progress along Fifth St.
• Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained at all the times.
• At least one sidewalk remains open on the street and pedestrians will be detoured safely to opposing side. (accessibility ramps to be provided where ever required)TCPs will be on site to assist pedestrians and cyclists as required.
• Traffic will restored to original pattern after working hours.
• On street parking will be not available during work hours in the work zone.
