Notice is hereby given that Inter-Municipal Business Licence Agreement Bylaw No. 8590, 2026 and Inter-Municipal Business Licence Scheme Bylaw No. 8591, 2026 will be presented to New Westminster City Council for adoption on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at New Westminster City Hall, 511 Royal Avenue, New Westminster, BC.
The purpose of Inter-Municipal Business Licence Agreement Bylaw No. 8590, 2026 and Inter-Municipal Business Licence Scheme Bylaw No. 8591, 2026 is to include the Township of Langley as a partner to the existing Metro West Inter-Municipal Business Licence (IMBL) program. The Metro West Inter-Municipal Business Licence program allows certain types of businesses to operate in participating cities without having to purchase separate licences from each municipality. The municipalities would include the Cities of Burnaby, Delta, New Westminster, Richmond, Surrey and Vancouver, and the Township of Langley. The types of businesses that are eligible to apply for an Inter-Municipal Business Licence are those:
• In the construction or trades industry providing services such as maintenance, repair, or inspections of land and buildings; OR
• A health care professional or health care service provider who provides services by visiting clients in their homes.
