Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the New Westminster Animal Shelter. The first thing we ask you to do is view the Volunteer Program General Information slideshow below to see if our program is a good fit for you, and vice-versa.

Important: our weekend shifts are FULL, so if your availability is limited to weekends only, we regret that we will not be able to take you on.
You may apply at any time, but please note that we only take on new volunteers in January, May, and September.
Upon receipt of your application, the City Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to set up an interview and start the volunteer screening process.
