The Persistence of Memory: New Media Gallery Alzheimer’s Project
New Media Gallery, the Alzheimer’s Society of BC and the City of New Westminster Arts Services, presents a new gallery tour program. Each mind and body experiences aging differently. For people with Alzheimer’s disease, issues with memory, communication, comprehension and the ability to participate in day-to-day activities is greatly affected. For those living with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, along with their caregivers and families, the tours provide a feeling of community and togetherness, and an opportunity to engage with others who understand the changes happening to the brain. Designed to be inclusive and engaging, participants will discover works in the NMG exhibitions through facilitated discussions, experiences and observations.
