Fire Prevention Week and Open House 2025

Charge into Fire Safety!

New Westminster Fire and Rescue Services is dedicated to reducing the occurrence of home fires through prevention, safety education and community outreach.  As part of this effort, we are having our Annual Open House on Saturday, October 4th, 2025 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Glenbrook Fire Hall (McBride & East 6th Ave).  This year’s theme is “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home” which serves to remind us of the importance of using, charging and recycling lithium-ion batteries safely to reduce the risk of fires in homes and communities.

This event allows the public to not only see behind the scenes at a Fire Hall but gives them an opportunity to network with the various emergency and community services which are available in New Westminster. The event takes place rain or shine with hundreds of visitors enjoying this annual informative, educational and interactive event.

Fire Prevention Week is observed each year during the October in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire, which began on October 8th, 1871 and caused devastating damage.

We look forward to seeing you at the Fire Hall!
