This year we will be holding our Open House event on Saturday, October 5^th, 2024 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Glenbrook Fire Hall (McBride & East 6^th Ave). The theme for this year is “Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work For You!”  This year’s focus on working smoke alarms comes in response to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) data, which shows that the majority of home fire deaths continue to occur in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms. 

We will have the firefighters charitable BBQ, drone demo, vendor information booths, prizes, games and more!

Fire Prevention Week is observed each year during the week of October 8^th in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire, which began on October 8^th, 1871 and caused devastating damage. This horrific blaze killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless, destroyed more than 17,400 structures and burned more than 2,000 acres of land. This years Fire Prevention Week runs October 6th - 12th, 2024
