Thank you to everyone who attended our Open House on Saturday, October 5th, 2024. It was a huge success!
The theme for this year is “Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work For You!” This year’s focus on working smoke alarms comes in response to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) data, which shows that the majority of home fire deaths continue to occur in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.
Fire Prevention Week is observed each year during the week of October 8th in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire, which began on October 8th, 1871 and caused devastating damage. This horrific blaze killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless, destroyed more than 17,400 structures and burned more than 2,000 acres of land. This year’s Fire Prevention Week runs October 6th - 12th, 2024
