This tree is slightly narrower in form than many standard dogwoods making it better for use in tighter spaces. The flowers are white and abundant. A member of the Stellar series of dogwoods, the tree is one of six successful clones resulting from the crossing of Flowering dogwood and Kousa dogwood. Celestial was patented in 1990 and has proven successful in resisting dogwood anthracnose (leaf blotch), a destructive pathogen that has claimed many of British Columbia’s native Pacific dogwood.
