Temporary On-site Parking to Patio Conversion

NOTICE OF WAIVER:
Notice is given under s. 467 of the Local Government Act that Council has waived the holding of a public hearing respecting Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 8206, 2020, to Zoning Bylaw No. 6680, 2001.  This bylaw amendment is being considered by Council to allow the temporary conversion of up to two (2) on-site parking spaces to patio spaces for restaurants, cafés, liquor primary licensed premises and lounge endorsement areas. The changes apply city-wide and would be in effect until January 1, 2021.

WHAT IS ZONING AMENDMENT BYLAW NO. 8206, 2020 ABOUT?
Bylaw No. 8206, 2020 proposes an amendment of the Zoning Bylaw to allow the temporary conversion of up to two (2) on-site parking spaces to patio spaces for restaurants, cafés, liquor primary licensed premises and lounge endorsement areas. These changes would create additional opportunities for businesses in providing extra space to allow for appropriate physical distancing.  The changes apply city-wide and would be in effect until January 1, 2021.
