Getting Around
The City of New Westminster’s transportation network serves all modes of transportation, including walking, cycling, public transit, goods movement, and driving. The City’s objective is to be inclusive and to make it feel safe, comfortable and convenient for people of all ages and abilities to walk, ride a bike and access transit.
Transportation is regulated by the Provincial Motor Vehicle Act as well as the City of New Westminster’s Street Traffic Bylaw No. 6027. All roadways, bikeways and greenways in New Westminster - including traffic signals, street signs and pavement markings - are designed and maintained in accordance with national and international standards, guidelines and transportation engineering best practice.
