Passport Mobile Parking App

The City is enhancing users' ability to pay for parking by allowing those who park in the city to use the Passport Mobile app to pay for parking in New Westminster.

When customers sign up for the Passport app, they are to provide all their personal information to Passport, who as an independent company, maintains its own privacy policy.

By creating a relationship with Passport, customers will have the additional benefit of being able to use the app in many other parking locations such as Surrey and Easy Park locations in Vancouver who also use Passport to provide their mobile parking solution.

Passport hosts its data on a Canadian data Centre, but provides customer and technical support out of their US offices. Therefore, before using the app, customers are required to provide consent to the accessing of Canadian personal information outside of Canada.

The City of New Westminster is paid parking revenue through our agreement with Passport and transfers parking information to City systems only to process parking offences.

City Staff also access Passport’s administrative system to collect parking statistics to help manage the Street and Traffic Bylaw.  These statistics do not include personal information.
