New elementary school coming to New Westminster
From the School District's announcement:
New Westminster families can expect a much-needed new elementary school in the city’s downtown area.
Premier David Eby made the official announcement at an event held at Fraser River Middle School (FRMS). The province will commit $65 million to build the facility next to FRMS.
Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2026, with a target completion date of summer of 2028.
City staff have been working closely and collaboratively with the School District's project team on the planning for this new elementary school. We look forward to continuing to support SD40 and are excited to see this project moving forward to support our growing community.
