  • Legislative Services supports the Mayor and Councillors and acts as a communications link between the New Westminster City Council, staff and the community.

    1. WHO RECEIVES MY CORRESPONDENCE IF I EMAIL ?

    All correspondence sent to will be received by the following:

    • Staff in Legislative Services who support City Council;
    • The Mayor and each City Councillor; and
    • Department heads or their delegates, as appropriate.

     

    2. WHO WILL RESPOND TO EMAILS SENT TO ?

    Legislative Services will acknowledge receipt of your correspondence.

    3. WHAT IF I SENT CORRESPONDENCE TO THE OLD EMAIL ADDRESS?

    During the transition period, the old email address, will continue to be monitored and correspondence intended for City Council will be forwarded to the new email address by City staff.

    4. WILL CORRESPONDENCE SENT TO CITY COUNCIL BE MADE PUBLIC?

    If you contact City Council to share your opinions or thoughts regarding matters that are being considered by Council during a Regular Council Meeting, Workshop, or Public Hearing, your correspondence will form part of the public record for the meeting and be included in the Agenda package or attached to and forming part of the Minutes - the official record of the meeting. All open Agendas and Minutes are posted on the City’s website and are publicly available. Personal email addresses and other identifying information (e.g. unit numbers or street numbers, contact information) will be redacted prior to publication on the City’s website.
