All community and recreation centres are closed to the public until further notice. All organized and permitted events in parks and sport fields that have potential to exceed 50 people have been cancelled, including closure of field houses and change rooms.


Parks remain open. Park washroom facilities remain open and cleaned with increased frequency.

Walk, Stroll or run

A stroll along the Waterfront Esplanade offers you beautiful vista of the mighty Fraser River along with amazing horticultural displays and our famous hanging baskets.

Park benches, view points, interpretive signage, public art and the RiverMarket make this walk a regional draw.


Play

This river view linear park offers two playgrounds. The main playground, located near the train bridge at the west end of the Esplanade, features water theme play features such as a submarine, lighthouse, swings, sand, lookout towers, water fountain, washrooms, park benches and picnic tables. 

The second playground, at the foot of the World's Largest Tin Soldier, features a single tugboat play structure popular with children of all ages.
