- Backflow prevention assemblies have internal seals, springs and moving parts that can wear out. Backflow prevention assemblies must be tested after installation, and tested annually by a certified tester, in accordance with CSA B64.10
- Effective May 1, 2022: Backflow assembly test reports for existing or replacement backflow testing will be managed by Backflow Solutions, Inc. (BSI). A $25.00 fee will be required to file a City of New Westminster test report with BSI.
For all existing backflow assemblies, an online test submission is mandatory.
Certified testers can register and submit test reports online through BSI Online
For new backflow assemblies, a copy of the test report must be submitted to backflow@newwestcity.ca prior to scheduling a backflow device inspection.
- Building and Plumbing Inspectors are available for phone calls from 8:30 am to 9:30 am Monday to Friday.NOTE: City Hall is open to the general public, however, due to staff rotations and to ensure that there is a member of staff available to help you, we encourage you to schedule an appointment.
