Adoptions

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Animal Shelter is temporarily closed to the general public. We are still processing adoptions with some important guidelines to protect the health and safety of our staff and the public.

Adopting an animal is an exciting idea, but it is also a serious decision that can result in a commitment of up to 15-20 years. Take some time to consider all the different factors of pet ownership, such as financial responsibilities, your lifestyle, and pet-friendly housing.

Once you are sure you’re ready to adopt, it’s time to start researching the type of animal that you are interested in. Decide what criteria that is important to you, and look for an animal that is well-matched.

Our adoptable animals have unique personalities and needs. Our goal is to find the most suitable home for them and the most suitable pet for you. We make every effort to place animals in “forever” homes so they don’t find themselves back in a shelter.

Our adoptable animals can be viewed at:

  • The Animal Shelter is temporarily closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To ensure the safety of the public, our animals, and staff, we have adjusted our typical adoption process. The first step is to view our adoptable pets online. Please be sure to read the profiles thoroughly, as we try to include as much information as possible about each animal. If after reading an animal’s profile, you still have questions, feel free to contact us via email or phone.

If you see an animal that you would like to adopt, please submit a completed adoption application via email. Our staff will then review your application and be in touch. Please note that only pre-screened applicants will be asked to schedule an appointment to meet the animal. If the meeting goes well, you may be asked to bring the pet home the same day to avoid repeat visits.
