Solar PV & Storage Rebate Application

Planning to generate or store your own electricity? Apply below to connect your system to our grid and, if you’re eligible, to access any solar or battery rebates we offer.

Tesla products are not eligible.

The Government of B.C. and BC Hydro/New Westminster Electric Utility are taking action to prioritize Canadian goods in our rebate programs and to exclude U.S. produced goods where practicable. As of March 12, 2025, Tesla products (electric vehicle chargers, energy storage batteries and inverters) are not eligible for CleanBC and BC Hydro/New Westminster Electric Utility rebates. If you purchased a Tesla EV charger or have received technical approval to install a self-generation system containing Tesla products prior to March 12, 2025, it can still qualify for rebates and will be processed as normal.

Rebates

Rebates help offset the cost of your project. See our solar and battery rebate details for an overview of rebate amounts, availability and eligible installations.

Important notes on rebate eligibility and payments:
  • Rebate applications are assessed for eligibility and paid after the project is complete, final documentation is received, and interconnection is approved. We cannot confirm your eligibility or guarantee a final rebate payment before this point.
  • Technical acceptance to proceed with Net Metering application does not mean that your rebate application is approved.
  • Rebate payments cannot exceed 50% of the project costs.
  • Rebate payments cannot exceed the maximum per product. For most applicants, the cap is $5,000 for solar and $5,000 for a battery.
