Sports Field Status

The Sports Field Status page is updated as conditions change and additional information is available.

During the fall and winter seasons, the page will be updated as needed by 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday (excluding stat holidays).

The City expects individual user groups to assume the responsibility of reviewing field conditions and closures prior to play. Subscribers to the Sports Field Status notifications will only receive an email when the field status changes.

Fields will be shown as either:

• Open
• Closed
• User Discretion

‘User Discretion’ allows user groups to make a decision regarding field conditions prior to the start of the game.  Fields can be determined ‘playable’ provided none of the following conditions exist:

• Standing water on field
• Frost or frozen ground conditions
• Snow on the field of play and surrounding areas

‘Closed’ means one of the above conditions exists and therefore no play is to be scheduled, regardless of sport or age group, until the closure is lifted. Artificial Turf Fields are normally closed during extreme weather conditions, i.e. excessive snow or ice/frozen surfaces.
