Drop-in Activities

  • Parks and Recreation offers many low-commitment services as opportunities to stay active and connected as a community. Drop-in activities include: Fitness, Skating, Swimming, Gymnastics, Sports and more!

Some activities require reservation. Reservation is open:
3 days in advance to New Westminster residents

2 days in advance for everyone

Reservation is required for some services where space is limited and is now optional for some services. Reservation ensures patrons can participate upon arrival and prevents anyone from being turned away.

  • SAVE WITH ACTIVE PASS!

Online reservations can now be made with an Active 10, 30, 90, and 365 passes for most drop-in services!

  • Why is reservation required for some services?

To facilitate sales of drop-in activities at locations that do not have sales staff (i.e. Centennial Lodge, school gyms, parks, etc.).

To ensure patron’s arrive at activities with guaranteed participation (i.e. Indoor cycling has limited capacity and reservation assures them of a bike and the ability to participate).

Will more services become available to reserve?
Our first goal with this new sales offering is to meet PHO requirements. It is anticipated the program will continue to grow throughout 2022.

Can I book reserve drop-ins online with my Active Pass?
Yes! Active Pass can now be used online for most activities where reservation is available! However when reserved drop-ins a lower fee (e.g. Skating and Swimming are $2.00) Active Pass will not be an available payment method.

Login to Reserve a Drop-in. Add your program of choice to your cart. If you have an eligible pass, when you checkout you will see the “Membership Fee: $0.00” option. Active 10 membership will be reduced by 1 Visit.

Can I cancel or transfer a Reserved Drop-in booking?

When are Reserve Drop-in activities available online?
Reserved Drop-in activities are viewable 7 days in advance. Reservation is open 3 days in advance to New Westminster residents, and 2 days in advance for everyone. Reservation closes 1 hour prior to the activity start time, except for indoor cycling, aquafit, and swimming which close at the activities start time.

Can I arrive without a reservation?
Drop-in sales without a reservation cannot be accommodated at Centennial Lodge, school gyms, and in park spaces where we do not have sales staff or equipment.
Drop-in sales will be accepted up to the event start time (if space is available) at recreation facilities where sales staff are available (Centennial Community Centre, Century House, Moody Park Outdoor Pool, Queensborough Community Centre). Please check online to see if there is space available before you arrive without a reservation to prevent line ups.
