City of New Westminster appoints new Director of Development Services
New Westminster, BC – The City of New Westminster is pleased to announce the appointment of Beverly Grieve to the position of Director of Development Services after a nationwide search to fill the role.
Beverly has been with the City’s Planning Department for six years, first as Manager of Planning, then as Acting Director of Development Services. She was appointed to the Acting role in June of this year, following former Director of Development Services Lisa Spitale’s appointment as the City’s new Chief Administrative Officer.
“Beverly has been doing great work for the City throughout the time she’s been here,” said Mayor Wayne Wright. “I’m looking forward to continuing to work with her and to her contributions in her new leadership role – she will be busy!”
Prior to her arrival to the City of New Westminster, Beverly spent three years as a Senior Planner with Metro Vancouver. Before that, she was the Housing Planner at the City of Burnaby for nearly two decades. Bev has a Master’s degree from the University of British Columbia’s School of Planning and is currently an instructor at SFU’s Centre for Sustainable Community Development.
“I’m excited to help create a strong vision for the future of New Westminster ,” said Beverly Grieve. “I’m looking forward to taking a leadership role in the department I’ve grown to love and continuing to work with a wonderful staff.”
