Wally’s Burgers now open at Westminster Pier Park
New Westminster, BC – The City of New Westminster is ramping up the food service operations at its downtown waterfront park. The City has signed a lease with Wally’s Burgers Inc. to operate the concession building and adjacent patio area in Westminster Pier Park. Under the agreement, the concession will operate June to Mid-October with up to four seasonal renewal terms.
Wally’s Burgers is a landmark eatery in the lower mainland that has been serving up their legendary burgers made with fresh local ingredients for over 50 years. Currently, Wally’s Burgers operates three locations across Metro Vancouver, including one located at the River Market in New Westminster. The concession stand, however, will be providing a different variety of fare from the River Market location, one of which includes their famous ice cream. Customers can expect to be served a selection of food and treats that Wally’s Burgers is well known for, including hot dogs and hamburgers, ice cream with made-on-site waffle cones, milkshakes, slushies, and other variety of snack items.
The 530 square foot concession space is located in the heart of Westminster Pier Park, and features a partially covered patio space outfitted with seating and a public restroom facility. It is located within close distance of several park amenities including the sand volleyball courts, basketball court, playgrounds and the spectacular riverfront boardwalk. Additionally, the Westminster Pier Park Pedestrian Overpass, which is currently under construction, will be located just behind the concession stand and connect park users to the Front Street Parkade at Columbia and Fourth Street.
The concession stand will be operational on the following dates and times over the upcoming months, with the daily opening being weather dependent:
