Many beautiful plants and shrubs happen to flower during the winter. A very noticeable one right now is Hamamelis (Witch Hazel).
You can find the yellow and red varieties in Queen's Park, close to Centennial Lodge. Orange varieties are located at Sapperton plaza, and along the Quayside Boardwalk in the 2nd perennial bed.
Viburnum bodnantense ('dawn'), is another favorite flowering shrub just starting to show itself along the Quayside Boardwalk.
