Join Arts New West and Indigenous Curator-in-Residence for Welcome to My Renaissance, a vibrant celebration of Indigenous culture, creativity, and connection. Taking place at The Habitat in Queen’s Park, this free community event features:

• Storytelling by Kung Jaadee, a traditional Haida storyteller, singer, and drummer (11am)
• Guided tours of The Habitat with land-based artist and knowledge keeper Dr. T’uy’t’tanat Cease Wyss (Skwxwu7mesh, Sto:lo, Hawaiian, Swiss), featuring Traditional Indigenous Cultural Knowledge Sharing. Learn about local plants used for food, medicine, and everyday tools, along with teachings on hugelkultur mounds, permaculture strategies, rain gardens, and sustainable gardening practices. 11:30am and 12:30pm
• Drop In Bone and Bead Choker workshop with Indigenous artist Sabian Rawcliff. 11:30am-2pm
• Live music by Indigenous singer songwriter Norrie Braun/ 1:30pm
